After some time of thinking, feeling, debating, and seeking the counsel of my friends, I’ve decided to take the pen name Alexandrine Vo. Vo is my maternal grandmother’s last name and I have always wanted to honor her in some significant way. I believe that this name will create the sense of openness and freedom that I hope for, and will not limit me in the ways that I feel my birth name has done. Today is the first day of June, the sixth month, six being my lucky number. It’s a good day to reveal this change.
