Meadowlark.

‘I prefer winter and fall, when you can feel the bone structure in the landscape—the loneliness of it—the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it—the whole story doesn’t show.’

― Andrew Wyeth, (interview by Richard Meryman), Life, 14 May 1965

What a dreamy, perfect weekend away in Kent, Connecticut, voted the number one Fall Foliage Town in New England. So many crunchy leaves to step on!

I’m especially eager to go out to Montauk by train some time this season, and then to Maine for the holiday. Out in Montauk, I’m told, a full moon would appear so larger-than-life that you could almost reach out and touch it.

Of nomadic blood, and with a life path of drifting design, I seem to be spending at least half my life’s time daydreaming, sharpening tools, plotting trips, and putting out and starting fires again.
