This is a teacher and a TA from the Vietnam Heritage Center where I volunteer to teach Vietnamese language, history, and culture on the weekend. They will be part of a team accompanying two disabled athletes (one blind, the other an amputee) from our motherland today as they make their way around all of New York’s five boroughs, bless them. This is a huge event, with people flying in from all over the world.
This year, because of what happened in Boston, all participants have been sporting clear bags.
The entire route is 26.2 miles, and the fastest of athletes run with their feet touching the ground only 25% of the time and are mostly floating in space.
